Early Mornings

Be jolted,
from such peaceful slumber;
Just to taste,
stale, stagnant spit;
To feel,
the chill touch of the air;
And see,
the grass weep forcibly;
If then is such,
greet the early morning sadly.

Or awaken,
to new beginnings;
For a chance to taste,
a lover's sweet kiss;
To feel,
the heart still beating;
And to see,
one's dreams come true;
If then is such,
greet the early mornings happily.
