As If I Were Naked
As if I were naked,
You gaze at me, yet I am unabashed,
for it is as if my every scar, my every wrinkle,
you see as thorns on a roses' stalk.
As numerous as the stars above,
all my sins, my faults, seem distant to you,
that is why they do not burn you,
though you are careful not to admire them so much,
lest you forget the fire that rages within them.
You walk freely into my soul,
like a drunkard walks into his favorite pub,
and everytime you part from my presence,
I am like that drunkard leaving his pub
and though I be still and you be silent,
it is as if then, that words held no more meaning,
like trying to burn the sun, or adding salt to the sea,
you add to me in silence, more of you,
of which, I am already.
